Born in Lake Grace, a small farming community in the wheatbelt of Western Australia, Tammy's first memories were of shimmering salt flats, stunning subtle colour and objects in isolation. These influences produce images which are often minimalistic and occasionally present a surreal nature. Her paintings have an underlying presence evolved from immersing oneself quietly in the landscape and watching the drama unfold.
From a young age Tammy has had an innate relationship with art and literature. Influenced by an almost painterly impressionist style and inspired by the work of Australian artists Hugh Ramsay, Sidney Long along with Austria's Gustav Klimt. Although showing a distinctive and recognisable style Tammy's work offers an ecclectic range with poetic, serene qualities.
Tammy now lives and works in Esperance WA. |
